The GFC 2-Day Replacement Process
At GFC Inland NW, we use a thorough 2-day process to ensure optimal results:
- Day 1: Patching, Surface Removal and Epoxy Application – We carefully remove the existing coating using our high-end concrete diamond grinders. If needed, we use our proprietary concrete patch system to repair cracks, pitting, and breaks. In the process, we create the perfect concrete profile to ensure proper primer coat adhesion. Then, we apply our 100%-solids, high-build epoxy primer coat as a moisture vapor barrier, allowing it to properly cure overnight (this slow-cure primer allows for deep concrete penetration and bonding). If you selected a flake system, we broadcast your chosen flake blend into the primer coat.
- Day 2: Topcoat Application – On the second day, we buff and clean the primer coat before applying two separate coats of our 100%-solids polyaspartic topcoats. (We leave the “less-than-100% solids” topcoats for the amateurs). These dual top coats enhance durability by resisting impacts, UV light, and staining…including hot-tire transfer. This 35-mil thick flooring is unmatched in durability, providing a stunning finish that lasts longer than any “1-day” system.
